Goldendale is the County Seat of Klickitat County.  Situated on the plain just 10 miles from the Columbia Gorge, it is a center for many econmic and recreational activities.  There is a good hospital, several grocery stores, restaurants and all the necessary amenities in a comfortable town of about 4,000 people.

The Goldendale Observatory is operated by the park service and is a delightful attraction for visitors and residents alike.  It is a short and beautiful drive to Satus Pass, ski areas and on to the Yakima Valley.  There are many mountain and territorial views from Goldendale.  From our vantage point you can see Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Rainer on a clear day - and there are many clear days!

The Little Klickitat River flows from Satus Pass through a park near the center of town and west through residential neighborhoods and farmland.
