I was born in Milton-Freewater, Or. and have lived here all my life except while attending college.  I graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor degree in farm crops.  I came back to Milton-Freewater and farmed  for approximately 35 years growing wheat, peas, and cattle.  I managed the farm for most of those years after my father retired.

When the farm was sold I moved my career to property management operating apartment complexes and mini storage buildings.  Having sold the business, I became interested in real estate, with my priority being farmland due to my extensive knowledge of the area and knowing many farmers.

I have sat on several committees over the years being involved in the Wheat League, Blue Mt. Pea Growers, and state chairman of the Farm Service Agency to name a few.  I am also currently the Mayor of Milton-Freewater where I am involved with budgeting for the city.
