          There are orchards of cherries, apples and pears throughout the valley.  Drive the Fruit Loop from Hood River to Parkdale and back down through Odell.  Stop at the many fruit stands and stores to enjoy fresh fruit, preserves and wine. 

          Take a ride on the Mount Hood Railroad up through the valley.  You can enjoy a pleasant afternoon ride or one of the special dinner theater trips.

          Mt. Hood has snow year round.  A drive to Timberline Lodge can be a refreshing excursion on a hot summer day, or filled with the thrills of downhill skiing in the winter. 

          The marina and adjacent park have become one of the most desirable places in the country for wind sports enthusiasts.  On many summer days you can see hundreds of windsurfers and kite-boarders on the Columbia River. 

          After a day on the water or in the national forests, downtown really comes to life.  Full Sail brewery has its own pub with regularly scheduled live music.  There are many other fine restaurants and shops along Oak Street and within a few blocks of downtown.
