Boise

The "City of Trees" is one of the fastest growing urban centers in the United States, and has received many national commendations for the quality of life offered.  With its friendly climate and numerous nearby recreational activities, Boise provides the perfect base for nature lovers as well.

Boise rests on a fairly flat plain, with very hot summers, cold winters, and mild spring and fall.  There is very little rain here.

To take pleasure in some of the breathtaking nature, take a stroll along the Boise River Greenbelt in the northwestern part of the city to admire the beautiful river or stop to fish or for a swim.  Chances are that you will see river rafters floating by at some point along the way.  Bogus Basin Mountain Resort offers skiing and snowboarding in the winter within an hour of the city limits.

If you are more urban-bound, experience the variety of dining and shopping in downtown Boise, especially "Restaurant Row" along 8th street, an often designated pedestrian-only section with a lively nightlife.  The recent "Alive After Five" tradition brings people out on summer evenings to enjoy concerts, drinks, and the company of their downtown neighbors every Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm.

Celebrate the annual Hyde Park Street Fair in the North End of Boise or take a walk throughout the Warm Springs neighborhood and view the Victorian mansions built by wealthy miners at the turn of the century.

There is an endless list of activities in Boise, take your pick!
