Opportunities abound for boating, fishing, and other water sports on our three, accessible lakes. Hiking, biking, and horseback riding are favorite activities on the varied public trails found throughout the area.
Community parks offer many recreational opportunities as families spend their weekends participating in and cheering on their kids who play in the local sports leagues. Soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and skateboarding are just a few of the popular family-oriented activities in town. The city also offers two exceptional private golf clubs: Sahalee and the Plateau Club. Sahalee hosted the US Senior Open, one of the premier golf events on the senior tour, in the summer of 2010.
Interested in the arts as well? The classically trained musicians of the Sammamish Symphony Orchestra perform a number of concerts throughout the year. Balmy summer evenings can be spent relaxing in Pine Lake Park while enjoying free “Concerts in the Park” and the Wooden O Shakespeare Players. A seasonal farmers’ market featuring lush local produce and creative crafters is another benefit to living in Sammamish.
No wonder Money Magazine named Sammamish the 12th best place to live in their 2009 annual ranking of the 100 best places to live in the U.S. Truly Sammamish is an exceptional place to call home!
