Seabeck has a wonderful history that may elude the casual visitor:
Large lumber mill and major lumber exporter 1857
First school built (where the fire station is now) 1860
Began building ships 1865
Major fire wipes out both mills 1886
Establishment of the Seabeck Christian Conference Center 1915
The Seabeck of today is a great community to live in. The town is only 11 miles from Silverdale, yet it feels like you have been transported to another country. You begin to feel the call of Seabeck as you cross Big Beef Creek and get your first unobstructed view of Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains.
The “city center” is the marina area, which is home to the Seabeck Store, Seabeck Pizza, Barbie’s Cafe, Turie’s Seabeck Espresso, Uptown Seabeck and the Seabeck Conference Center.
Seabeck is a Mecca for boating, crabbing, fishing, kayaking, and photography. There are plenty of amenities that lead to outdoor adventure, Scenic Beach State Park, Misery Point boat launch, and Nick’s Lagoon to name a few.
