Widely known and celebrated for its Scandinavian heritage, what started out as a salmon fishing town but has become one of Seattle's most popular neighborhood scenes. In the 2000's, Ballard added hundreds of condominiums to the downtown area adding an aura of hustle and bustle to the streets.

Enjoy the well-known Ballard Sunday Farmers Market open every Sunday rain or shine all year round! This market is famous for it's tree-lined, scenic surroundings and amazing variety of fresh foods, delightful crafts, beautiful jewelry, and northwest inspired furniture.

Along the same avenue or a nearby street, enjoy a stop at a pub or restaurant for a bite to eat. There are many places to choose from of different flavors and styles.

Visit Golden Gardens for a nice stroll along the beach or a kayaking adventure with a view of the Olympic Mountains. Or if you've never seen the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, what an engineering feat!  Evenings in Ballard bode well for travelers and locals alike, with many a bar open will past midnight to quench your thirst for wine or conversation. Ballard has it all!
